Our Story
Our journey at Lurepa began with a deeply personal experience. Our family's life took an unexpected turn when a team of physicians pulled us into the hallway to discuss the results of our child's recent tests. Our joyful little girl, so full of life and laughter, had to be hospitalized. Amidst the turmoil and constant worry, we recognized the pressing need to be present and to try to bring a glimmer of joy and comfort into every moment.
After some recovery, and a number of additional hospital visits, the idea for Lurepa started to crystalize. A product line was conceived with the sole aim of bringing smiles and comfort to children and their families during their hospital stays. We understood the uncertainty that often lingers, the trauma, the clothing limitations and how trying to be at your best at all hours can be challenging.
In such uncertain times, when the outcome is unknown, we found that it was in the little things – a comforting item, a kind gesture, a funny prank, a simple moment of joy, – that became profoundly significant. It was the little things that helped in lighting the way through what were some of our most challenging times both individually and as a family.
With this new understanding we wanted to help lighten the load for anyone going through a medical journey. At Lurepa, we pour our hearts into curating each product. We ensure every item meets the highest standards of quality, provides comfort, and carries an element of playfulness to uplift the spirits of everyone embarking on this journey together. Our products are more than just objects; they're bundles of joy, designed with love and hope, aimed at making the tough journey a bit lighter. It is our hope that in creating lighter and brighter moments that people can focus on what we feel truly matters - being present, creating smiles and trusting an incredible power within.

What's in a Name?
At Lurepa, every detail is thoughtfully considered - right down to our name and slogan.
Lurepa is a combination of letters: 'lure på'. Lure på in Norwegian means wonder. Looking back, it perfectly sums up the mix of emotions we felt during our time at the hospital. It's hard to put into words, but when you find yourself in a hospital, faced with devastating news, there's a lingering sense of wonder. It's the kind of wonder that makes you think about how to heal something broken or protect the ones you love. And if you take a step back and observe, you'll be amazed by the incredible individuals you encounter. It's a feeling of astonishment mixed with admiration, inspired by something beautiful, unexpected, and unfamiliar—this is where wonder resides. Why? Because you don't know their story, the news they've received or delivered that day, or the magnitude of their struggles. Yet, you see their unwavering presence and their tireless efforts with everything they have. Parents, children and all of the hospital staff gave us a sense of wonder. We thank you for all of the beauty you are.
Lurepa is our adult-branded line and Wonder by Lurepa is our child-branded line. We like to think our Lurepa brand is supportive of parents, caregivers and adult patients and that our Wonder by Lurepa brand is supportive of children.
We trust you will see how it's in the little things that make our products different. It could be the accessibility or comfort of a garment, the togetherness implied in our notebook or massage ball packages, the unique stitching showing how unique and special each of us individually are for a commonly used items in the hospital which can be reused at home or how playful an experience could be that will make you smile and know you are not alone.
