A journey of a thousand miles often involves battles, and it was during this journey that Lurepå was born.
I still vividly remember the day I was pulled aside into the hallway and received some devastating news. Unfortunately, it arrived without any clear answers, leaving me with only more questions and uncertainties. It felt as though my entire world had come to a halt, and I was merely a bystander watching events unfold. People were conversing, moving about, urging me to make decisions, yet all I could comprehend was the gravity of the situation, leaving me feeling completely isolated. I needed to sit down.
It was in this moment I did as some parents do. I cried, shook it off, threw on my cape and off I went to be what I knew I could be - a safe place and a whole lot of fun.
I couldn't solve this problem, trade places or take anything away but I knew how to make my child laugh and that is exactly what we did in our own little way - we coped, we cried, we smiled and we made every second count.

That no one should ever feel alone and that everyone deserves support during chaotic times. So I embarked on another journey of a thousand miles to transform the perception of hospital life and medical conditions demonstrating that it can indeed be remarkable and beautiful.

What's in a Name?
At Lurepa, every detail is thoughtfully considered - right down to our name and slogan.
Lurepa is a combination of letters: 'lure på'. Lure på in Norwegian means wonder. Looking back, it perfectly sums up the mix of emotions we felt during our time at the hospital. It's hard to put into words, but when you find yourself in a hospital, faced with devastating news, there's a lingering sense of wonder. It's the kind of wonder that makes you think about how to heal something broken or protect the ones you love. And if you take a step back and observe, you'll be amazed by the incredible individuals you encounter. It's a feeling of astonishment mixed with admiration, inspired by something beautiful, unexpected, and unfamiliar—this is where wonder resides. Why? Because you don't know their story, the news they've received or delivered that day, or the magnitude of their struggles. Yet, you see their unwavering presence and their tireless efforts with everything they have. Parents, children and all of the hospital staff gave us a sense of wonder. We thank you for all of the beauty you are.
Lurepa is our adult-branded line and Wonder by Lurepa is our child-branded line. We like to think our Lurepa brand is supportive of parents, caregivers and adult patients and that our Wonder by Lurepa brand is supportive of children.
